Every item is manufactured using traditional dowelled mortice and tenon joinery complemented with corrosion-resistant solid brass and aluminium fixtures and fittings. Teak is a handsome, slow-growing hardwood tree which yields beautiful and uniquely strong, durable and stable wood. Together with its naturally high oil and rubber content, this makes it extraordinarily weatherproof, long lasting and thus the ideal material for garden and conservatory furniture. Naturally rich in oleoresin, teak is highly resistant to warping and rotting and will last for many years without any special treatment.The teak used in the manufacture of Westminster furniture comes from ecologically managed plantations in Indonesia which are supported by Perum Perhutani certification ensuring that, far from being depleted and threatened, these wonderful species flourish and remain protected.This bench can be purchased with or without a seat cushion, which is available in a range of colours. The cushion is of a twin piped box design and the cover is removable for hand washing at 30°.
